Justice of the Peace Sons has been in office in Wichita County since 1988 and is extremely active in the community,serving on the boards of The Arc of Wichita County, YMCA, Susan G. Komen Wichita Falls Race for the Cure and Justice of the Peace and Constable Association of Texas. She currently serves as president for Arc and YMCA. Other awards received, besides TBW’s Woman of the Year, include Hirschi High School Alumni of the Year, induction into the North Texas Women Hall of Fame, and two time recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award by Leadership Wichita Falls. She has one son, Rusty, daughter-in-law Richelle, and three “awesome” grandchildren, Taylor, Maddie and Jackson.

The December meeting is always a special time for members to come together to recount their blessings, meet new colleagues and renew long-time friendships. Our club has been in existence since 1976 and has experienced many changes, but one thing has stayed constant: Our mission to provide resources for leadership, networking and advocacy to empower women (and men) to succeed personally and professionally. Janice Ralston Sons epitomizes our club’s mantra and she is sure to delight all who attend this special event.

Mark Tuesday, 13 December, on your calendar and join us at the Woman’s Forum at noon. It is suggested you arrive a few minutes early to spend time with our special guest speaker. Please note, that we will be meeting in the Garden Room at the FRONT of the Forum rather than the Club room. So just enter the front doors of the Forum and you will find us!

We have some amazing prizes this year, a hotel stay, spa packages, dinner for 2 at several local restaurants… and there are so many different ways to win. There’s four trivia rounds with prizes for each, a grand prize winner… plus prizes for the best costumes!

Now, the costume contest is not strictly one vote per person. Anyone who wants to COMPETE in the contest needs to get the most VOTES. Hint: one dollar = one vote! Bring your own ballot box (can, or whatever) so people can “vote” for you! Of course all the proceeds go to our college scholarship program.

New this year is a Purse Auction. Now, you might really like the purse, but you’ll really be bidding on what might be inside. The twist is that it’s a surprise! Each purse is sealed so you don’t know what you might win. We even have some beautiful pearl jewelry donated by certified pearl expert and TBW member Nancy Tidmore!
